Scrap Sourcing & Aggregation

Dealers source and aggregate mixed ferrous scrap, high-grade copper, brass, lead-acid batteries, and obsolete electronic gadgets from commercial institutions, garages, and households throughout the Ashanti Region with fair commodity-based pricing.

Skilled Mechanical Dismantling

600 members have undergone formal technical training to mechanically deconstruct electronic appliances, compressors, and wiring. Extracting intact components (motors, pumps, circuits) maximizes revenue and prevents environmental contamination.

Transport Logistics to Accra

The Association manages structured loading and collective freight haulage from Akwatialine Yard directly to industrial steel mills, copper smelters, and authorized e-waste processing hubs in Accra and Tema, feeding national production lines.

Zero Cable Burning Prohibition

In strict enforcement of municipal bye-laws, open burning of insulated copper wire is 100% prohibited across all Akwatialine yards. Wire strippers and mechanical cutters must be used. Defaulters face immediate suspension, product seizure, and prosecution.

Health & Safety Manual Distributed

An official Health & Safety Manual has been published and distributed across member workshops, establishing mandatory protocols for handling heavy salvage, first-aid response, fire prevention, and personal protective equipment (PPE).

E-Waste Guidelines & Drainage Protection

Specific rules govern handling cathode ray tubes, toxic chemicals, and dirty motor oils. Dumping scrap debris or toxic effluents into municipal stormwater drains is strictly banned. Community desilting taskforces regularly inspect drainage flow.
